Prisca welcomed us very warmly and we had a nice little chat right away. So arriving is like being at home. The atmosphere in the guesthouse was very pleasant. Our room was cozy and large, the bed was just right and everything was very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The location is perfect, safe and quiet even in the evening and night. Prisca had tips for us for dinner on 7th Street, walking distance about 5 minutes. Whenever we will be in Joburg again, it will be in Melville at Turret Guesthouses. I liked everything - it was in a very good area, and there was even a security guard at the street corner near their complex - I felt totally safe and I walked all over the Melville and Parkview areas without feeling threatened. The lodge itself was so wonderful, cute design and a nice area for sitting outside if you wished. The room was so clean and a very nice bed and I had the room with the full bath, what a treat that was for me. I loved this place so much that I stayed there twice during my time in South Africa as I had to come to Johannesburg 3x, the last time I landed back in JoBurg late and had an early am departure so I stayed near the airport, just made it simpler or I'd have stayed there. ALSO - The staff were incredible, Top Notch all the way, they were warm and welcoming and attended to so many guests needs, you felt like you were with family, I'd recommend this place to anyone, it is easy to get to and there are tons of shops, pubs and restaurants just a 5-7 minute away (a safe walk too). :)

This is a beautiful guesthouse in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with a lovely lady managing it. The loft room is fantastic, with big bathtube, TV with Netflix and Youtube, super comfy bed and well-equipped kitchen annex - a real gem. The area is very well protected, we walked there at night and it felt very safe, it's close to nice restaurants and a bit further but still perfectly walkable to the big supermarket and liquor store. The venue has a very pretty garden with pleasant seating options. We had some time before our flight and the managing lady let us leave our luggage to walk around and then stay in the garden as long as we needed which was very nice. The breakfast was very good, they could accommodate to our vegetarian requests:) All in all, we are sorry we didn't have more time to stay there for longer and if again in Joburg I think we'll choose this place again:)

Safe and walkable location, close to restaurants, a shopping center, and the Milpark hospital. The breakfast included hot items as well as cereal, yogurt, and fruit. Prisca did a fabulous job preparing a variety of hot egg breakfasts, solving issues that arose (had to reprogram a TV that was not showing Netflix), and generally providing useful information. The upstairs studio loft is very spacious, with a full size bathtub, peek-a-boo views of the city, a small kitchenette, nice seating area. The only caveat (for people with more limited mobility) is that reaching the loft requires walking up or down outside stairs, a bit steep and exposed to the elements.

Prisca is a wonderful host. Turret guest house was a relaxing oasis. Prisca helped to arrange a guided day tour of Jo’burg including Soweto which was excellent. Situated 5 minutes away from shops, cafes, bars and restaurants the location was perfect and it felt safe to walk in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Can definitely recommend this guest house.

The room we were Allocated, was exceptionally clean. Bed was pristine white and fluffy comfortableness. Instant Netflix and YouTube. Perfect. And it was soooo quiet. Owner Brilliant as always, knew what we needed before we even knew. Bathroom spotless and all needed was supplied. Hot water in the blink of an eye. As always a perfect stay. Owner granted us early checkin-in. Thank you so much Koos. Room was spotless, and impeccably clean. Bed as always brilliant white bedding and super comfortable sleep. The bath was amazing, hot water at a drop of a hat... Was so needed.. air-con for that hot part of the day worked perfectly.... All the staff where so sweet and accommodating.... And the quietness was great.... to sum it up... Pure perfection from arrival to departure.... One cant go wrong with this guesthouse.

Charming place, well situated in a peaceful and calm area close to 7th street with restaurants, bars and a small grocery shop. Prisca, the manager is such a lovely and caring lady who takes care of the guests with utmost attention. She is the sunshine of place.

Prismatic was exceptionally good to us, offering every bit of assistance no matter how basic it looked. The Guest House is a safe and quiet environment with a variety of restaurants nearby within a walking distance.
